GitHub Makes Copilot Chat Available to All Worldwide
GitHub is giving more developers hands-on access to their powerful AI pair programming tool. The company has expanded availability of Copilot Chat globally following a closed beta period.
Copilot Chat can now be accessed for $10 per month as part of individual paid GitHub plans. Select free accounts, including students, teachers and open source maintainers, keep their complimentary access.
Powered by GPT-4, the natural language chatbot integrates seamlessly into GitHub workflows. Users can describe issues to Copilot Chat and receive targeted code solutions in real-time, streamlining development. When paired with GitHub Copilot, it forms a dual AI assistant to help users code faster.
By opening Copilot Chat up worldwide, GitHub aims to spread the productivity benefits of artificial intelligence. Paid and complimentary access plans give more teams and solo developers hands-on experience with the programming-focused chatbot.
With this expanded rollout, the ball is in developers' court to try Copilot Chat for their projects and provide feedback on how GitHub can strengthen AI's role in the software development process.
