ChatGPT iOS App Now Offers Bing Search Integration for Plus Users
The ChatGPT iOS app now offers paid Plus subscribers access to Microsoft's powerful Bing search engine to provide up-to-date information.
In the app's latest update, OpenAI has integrated Bing for subscribers of its $20 per month ChatGPT Plus plan. This gives them information sourced directly from the web.
Microsoft's multibillion-dollar investment in OpenAI earlier this year included making Bing the default search engine for ChatGPT. The integration began as a beta test in the web version of ChatGPT, which is designed to "scour the internet to answer questions about current topics and events."
However, the free version of ChatGPT on iOS can only provide information up to 2021.
To activate the Bing search feature on the iOS app, ChatGPT Plus users simply need to enable the "Browsing" option in the app settings. They then select the GPT-4 model and click "Browse with Bing."
ChatGPT currently only has an iOS app, though an Android version is coming soon. The Bing integration will give ChatGPT Plus subscribers on iPhone a major boost in answering questions by accessing the full range of internet knowledge.
